Is your car too small? A recent survey conducted by CarGurus.com revealed that parents driving multiple children around in sedans are less satisfied with their cars than those driving larger capacity vehicles like minivans and SUVs.

According to the survey, 21% of sedan owners believe that their car does not meet their needs, while only 7% of minivan and SUV owners reported feeling the same way. Of those who said that their car does not meet their family?s needs, 62% of them reported that they felt their car was too small.

These results leave us with the question: Is a bigger car the key to a happier family driving experience?

The answer, of course, depends on what your particular ?needs? are. According to the survey, 56% of parents with kids around middle-school age reported that they are shuttling their kids to and from school and/or extra-curricular activities five or more days each week. One in three of these parents said that they spend at least four hours each week driving their kids to and fro. Overall, that adds up to more than eight whole days of driving per year. With the amount of driving these parents are doing, it?s no wonder they aren?t satisfied with their cars.

According to Matt Smith, Editor at CarGurus, ?Parents weight important factors when they consider their family car, but it seems that bigger capacity is one of the best indicators for overall satisfaction, especially as kids grow up. The benefits of more space and improved comfort and convenience features are huge for families, and manufacturers are delivering on these bigger expectations at many budgets and with improved fuel efficiency.?
